How much does Google Drive cost?

Google Drive is part of Google Workspace, so when you purchase a Google Workspace licence, you get Google Drive. You can store your files, access them online, share them with others, and sync them between your computers and mobile phones.

There are several options for getting Google Drive, all at different price and service levels. The cheaper the option, the more you will need to do yourself to set up and manage Google Drive and Google Workspace, which might not be ideal if you run a busy company. Instead, you would probably be better off partnering with a Google Partner like Kimbley IT.

If you have a free Gmail account, it comes with Google Drive at no extra cost, but you are limited to 15GB of storage. After that, you would need to sign up for Google One to pay for additional storage space, which can add up over time, and it is not ideal if you're running a business.

Google Drive for Google Workspace.

Google Workspace is a subscription service for businesses that want to use a modern alternative to Microsoft Office. It comes with Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet and many other features that help you manage your business data, collaborate with team members, share content securely and protect your information from hackers.

If you go to Google directly to purchase Google Workspace, you can get Google Drive for a reasonable £5.90 per month per team member, starting with 30GB of storage, which may not be enough space for most businesses - so you likely will need to purchase a higher package.

When you buy directly from Google, you are on your own and must deploy and set up Google Workspace and Google Drive for your business. You would then need to continually monitor it to enable new features, ensure everything is secure, onboard and offboard team members, and more. It is pretty involved; most companies that go this way employ full-time administrators to manage Google Workspace.

The other option is to sign up with a Google Partner, such as ourselves, who can offer unlimited data storage in Google Workspace and Google Drive while also setting up, managing and monitoring the service and providing comprehensive IT support for your team. This level of support has proven beneficial for companies like MAC Surfacing, which is featured in the video below.
